Stephanie Bedard, M.A. Counseling Psychology, RSW

Social Worker, Registered Psychotherapist

Stéphanie is a registered social worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Registered Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She is fluent in both French and English. She completed her undergraduate education at Laval University in Québec City, and later obtained her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology through Yorkville University.

In her sessions, Stéphanie uses an integrative and biopsychosocial approach to best meet the needs of her clients. Stéphanie has many years of experience working with Canadian Forces families and medically releasing military members from both regular forces and high readiness units at the Trenton Canadian Forces Base (CFB Trenton). Aside for her experience supporting the Canadian Forces community, Stéphanie worked at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) with the chronic pain service, where she learned about the important role that the nervous system has on mental health and chronic pain management. She also learned the importance of parents support in the context of pediatric chronic pain management and loves to work with parents to help them develop their skills so they can best help their child in their journey through pain management.

Stéphanie is skilled in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), emotion-focused family therapy (EFFT) and her interventions incorporate elements from these approaches depending on the client’s needs.
