Liv Lazimbat

Liv is a dedicated and emerging therapist with a strong academic background and extensive hands-on experience in both clinical and research settings. She is currently in her second year of her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa. Liv has experience working with a diversity of clients as they face challenges related to anxiety, depression, developmental trauma, family dynamics, behavioural difficulties, and neurodevelopment (ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Global Developmental Delay). Liv also has experience working with indigenous, refugee, and queer youth.

Liv is an empathetic and understanding therapist specializing in collaborative problem-solving, person-centered therapy, and family dynamics. With a focus on empowering clients, Liv works closely with individuals and families to navigate challenges, foster positive communication, and develop effective coping strategies. By integrating a collaborative approach, Liv helps clients identify and overcome obstacles in a supportive environment, ensuring that their voices are heard and valued. Whether working with individuals or families, Liv is dedicated to creating a therapeutic space where clients can explore their unique experiences and work towards meaningful, lasting change.

Prior to working at CAFCO, Liv has served as a Psychometrist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), where she conducted comprehensive psychological assessments for children and youth with neurodevelopmental conditions. Her previous working in mental health centers have equipped her with practical skills in psychological evaluation, client intake, and therapy coordination.
