My name is Dr. Kelly Doiron, and I am a Clinical Psychologist at the Child, Adolescent, and Family Centre of Ottawa (CAFCO).
I provide therapy to children and adolescents struggling with a range of mental health difficulties, such as anxiety, OCD, depression, emotion dysregulation, and trauma.
I use an integrative approach that draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure/Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I work collaboratively with clients to establish therapeutic goals, then tailor concepts and strategies to their strengths, needs, and interests. When possible, I also try to include caregivers so that they too can learn how to support their children and youth.
I completed my Ph.D. at Concordia University where I did practica in various settings, including the university’s Applied Psychology Centre, the Jewish General Hospital, and the Montreal Children’s Hospital. My predoctoral internship was completed at the Waterloo Region Psychology Consortium (WRPC), where I worked in placements at the Waterloo District School Board (WRDSB) and at an organization called Lutherwood, which provided mental health services to children, youth, and their families. Outside of CAFCO, I also work as a School Psychologist at the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO).
