Dr. Julie Paré, D.Ps., C.Psych.

Neuropsychologist

Hi! I am Dr Julie Paré. I am a neuropsychologist at the Child, Adolescent, and Family Centre of Ottawa (CAFCO) since July 2022. I provide neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessments in both French and English.

I completed my bachelor’s degree in the honor program at Montreal University. I received an undergraduate scholarship to work at the Centre de recherche en neuropsychologie et cognition (CERNEC) and the Centre hospitalier universitaire Sainte-Justine (CHU Sainte-Justine). My work focussed on epilepsy and learning. I graduated with distinction and was on the Dean’s list for 3 years in a row. My doctoral studies were completed at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) in the clinical neuropsychology program where I received a doctoral scholarship for excellence and was granted a doctoral scholarship for research.

I am a member of the College of psychologists and behaviour analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) as well as a member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ). My clinical experiences include over ten years of clinical neuropsychology, 7 years as an autonomous practice member and over 3 years as a psychometrist. I worked with a variety of population and problematic, including intellectual disability, post-acute stroke or traumatic brain injury assessment, ADHD, learning disorders, neurocognitive disorder caused by different conditions, oppositional defiant disorder, etc. I am also a member of the Jurispridence and Ethics Examination Committee with the CPBAO and participates in the oral exam process in which the psychological candidate receives their recommendation to become official members of the profession.

Neuropsychology is a passion for me as well as a second career. In 2008, I decided to go back to the university to achieve the goal I had fixed for myself in the past but could not achieve for different reasons. I left behind 10 years of work as a laboratory technician and put forth all the effort to reach my goal. I am eager to help those who struggles to achieve their full-learning potential. Everyone has strengths that they can build on.
