Is your child quick to “flip their lid”?
Do they struggle to stay calm when they get frustrated?
Once they are worked up do they take a long time to calm down?
If you answered yes to one or more of these questions this emotional regulation group may be for you.
We will use evidence-based techniques from cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and body-oriented approaches to help children develop emotion regulation skills.
Each week, we will cover a range of topics including:
Our interactive sessions will be filled with engaging activities, including a workbook, relaxation exercises, and a feelings check in, to ensure that your child is having fun while learning new skills.
We believe that practice is the key to success. Therefore, we will encourage children to practice the new skills taught in the group during each session.
Enroll your child in our program today and watch them develop the ability to regulate their emotions and improve their overall well-being!
To ensure that the learning continues at home, caregivers will receive a family resource outlining ways to practice and expand on the week’s content. There will be three virtual sessions for caregivers (at weeks 1, 4, and 8) on Zoom to review what has been taught and discuss how they can support their children’s emotional development.
